Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Proposal Writer to join our dynamic team. The Proposal Writer will develop compelling, compliant, and client-focused proposals by collaborating closely with subject matter experts, conducting in-depth research, and effectively translating complex information into clear, persuasive proposal narratives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in kick-off meetings, strategy sessions, and proposal planning activities.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather, analyze, and incorporate relevant and accurate information.
  • Write, edit, format, and finalize narrative-style proposals ensuring clarity, compliance, and consistency with client requirements.
  • Tailor existing content into customized, client-focused responses emphasizing solution alignment with client-specific needs.
  • Incorporate strategic win themes and address client priorities and critical decision factors.
  • Develop and/or review comprehensive proposal sections including cover letters, executive summaries, past performance, management, and staffing plans.
  • Participate actively in proposal reviews (color teams), incorporating stakeholder feedback into subsequent proposal iterations.
  • Proofread and edit proposals to eliminate errors, enhance readability, and ensure alignment with brand standards.
  • Create, organize, and maintain an accessible proposal content library for efficient reuse in future proposals.
  • Collaborate with solutions experts to devise and articulate winning proposal strategies.
  • Support capture and business development planning efforts to ensure readiness for future opportunities.
  • Take full ownership and accountability for proposal deliverables, ensuring timely submission of high-quality products.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in proposal management and proposal writing.
  • Demonstrated technical writing ability, especially in response to RFPs.
  • Strong research skills, capable of synthesizing information from diverse sources such as open-source research, SMEs, solutioning sessions, and data calls.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • APMP Certification or experience with Shipley business and proposal development methodology/best practices
  • Experience in government contracting and familiarity with federal acquisition processes and standards is highly desirable.
