The Project Risk Analyst report to the Manager, Projects Estimates and is responsible for the conducting project risk profile assessment and contingency evaluation for the PCJPB Caltrain.
Essential Functions & Duties
Assist in the development of processes for Risk Management for Capital Program, support in the evaluation of project risk profile programs and procedures.
Implementation of Risk Management software tools.
Coordination and collaboration with project stakeholders to develop project risk profiles
Establishes contingency budgets for capital project based on project risk profiles.
Examples Of Essential Duties
Tracking project risks and contingency and updating/maintaining risk registries.
Support management in reviewing the best business practices of risk management procedures and help implement software or tools for cost reporting.
Responsible for Risk Kick-off, and ongoing meetings with Project Manager, Internal and External Stakeholder to populate and maintain the Risk Register up to-date.
In Collaboration with Project Manager, Estimator and stakeholders, develop Time, Cost and Scope impacts on the project for individual Risks.
Support project teams in monitoring and keeping risk status updated while ensuring that practices and procedures are followed.
Development of Risk/Contingency profile for each Project
Develop Monthly/Quarterly Risk status and Contingency Drawdown reports.
Review and evaluation of Risk/Opportunity Registers provided by other Consultants and contractors.
Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted.
Bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration or related field.
Three (3) years full time work experience in construction or capital improvement project risk analysis experience
Preferred Qualifications
Railroad and or heavy civil construction experience.
Demonstrated history of participation in ongoing project risk analysis and contingency fund management.
Prior experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis (i.e. Monte Carlo risk analysis / simulation)
Prior experience with Risk Analysis Software/ tools (i.e. Primavera)
Knowledge of basic Project Estimates.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and complete assignments with minimal supervision
Presentation skills, ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and project team members
