Summary

Position: Senior Program (Project) Manager

Department: Railways Constructions

Location: Hyderabad

Reporting To: Business Head – Railways Constructions

Role Summary

The Project Manager for the Railways Kavach Infra Project will lead and manage all aspects of the implementation of Kavach Infrastructure – the Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS). The role involves overseeing planning, execution, and completion of the project, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and safety standards while coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets for TCAS Kavach Infrastructure.
  • Execution of project would be as per the standards of Railways and delivery must be as per the WO/LOI guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian Railways' guidelines and standards for TCAS implementation.
  • Team and Stakeholder Management:
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and site teams.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and government authorities.
  • Technical Oversight:
  • Provide guidance on the installation, commissioning, and integration of the Kavach Infrastructure.
  • Oversee site surveys, risk assessments, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Budget and Cost Control:
  • Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions, as necessary.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference and audits.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • MBA or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in railway infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years managing similar signalling/automation projects.
  • Hands-on experience with TCAS/Kavach Infra Projects is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of railway signalling systems and automation technologies.
  • Proficient in project management tools like MS Project or Primavera.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster collaboration.

  • On-time completion of the Kavach Infrastructure implementation.
  • Adherence to project budget and quality benchmarks.
  • Compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication and coordination with stakeholders.
