Duration: Permanent, this role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered.
Location: This role is based in QMK . For Quadrant: MK, you must live within 90 minutes of The Quadrant or be willing to relocate.
Band & Salary: Band 3B £46,701 - £53,589 per annum, any salary offered with be within the advertised salary range and is subject to experience.

Join our dynamic team as a
Project Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the UK rail industry. Your expertise will drive crucial decisions, impacting major programs such as High Speed 2, East West Rail, and Industry Review Programme. You’ll collaborate closely with regional peers and project teams, testing proposals to enhance capacity, connectivity, and network performance. Identifying innovative solutions to industry challenges, ensuring future timetables are robust and dependable. Your insights will guide industry decision-making through Event Steering Groups and Development Timetable processes. As an integral team member, you'll lead your own projects while supporting others. If you're an enthusiastic problem-solver ready to make a meaningful impact on tomorrow's rail network, we want you on our team!
What does the average day look like?
Project Management of large timetable changes requires considerable skill in collaboration and communication of the many stakeholders involved. Planning the overall project to deliver in time and to the performance and success criteria identified. Meeting with customer and colleagues to balance the multitude of desired outcomes, identifying how and when things need to be completed and tracking those activities closely. Assessing and communicating when trade-offs are required, pro-actively understanding stakeholder needs and communication to them individually and in wider groups. Leading on projects for customers and stakeholders around the country, develop strong relationships to drive improvements across the country in the timetable and for passengers and freight users.
but also in the development of safety plans and associated documentation.
Essential Criteria
- Expert knowledge of train planning systems and processes, including relevant sections of Access Conditions
- Detailed understanding of the railway industry, contractual matrix and regulatory regime
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of train service structure and commercial and practical implications of implementing changes to the timetable
- Proven analytical skills
