Job Summary: Summit Construction and Development is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paving Division General Manager to oversee our operations within the construction sector. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a solid understanding of heavy equipment operation, and a strong background in concrete work. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage all paving operations to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality project delivery. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the division, ensuring projects are executed on time and within budget. Supervise and coordinate activities of workers involved in concrete forming, paving, and other construction tasks. Oversee the operation of heavy equipment, including concrete mixers, loaders, dump trucks, and other machinery. Ensure compliance with DOT standards, safety regulations, and company policies on construction sites. Provide training and guidance to staff on equipment operation and best practices in construction techniques. Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans and schedules. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work sites to ensure quality control. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Qualifications and Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). Experience: Proven experience in a managerial role within the construction industry. Minimum of 5 years in paving or heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Technical Knowledge: Expertise in paving materials, equipment, and processes. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, loaders, and dump trucks. Familiarity with construction site operations, including digging, paving, and concrete forming techniques. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Office, Buildertrend, and Trello. Certifications (Preferred): OSHA certification. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential. A valid commercial driver’s license is preferred but not required. Key Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities and team management skills. Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
