About the Role
We’re partnering with a leading mechanical contractor to hire an experienced Project Manager with deep knowledge of process piping systems. This role is based in Sacramento and will lead the full project lifecycle—sales, estimating, procurement, execution, and field coordination—for complex process piping projects in industrial and high-purity environments.
You’ll manage project teams, coordinate with internal stakeholders and clients, and ensure that technical excellence, budget accuracy, and schedule performance are consistently delivered. This is a client-facing leadership role that requires a strong mix of technical fluency, relationship-building, and business acumen.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead end-to-end process piping projects, from business development through closeout
- Oversee estimating, procurement, contract development, project execution, and field support
- Manage project financials including forecasting, cost control, and billing
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensure quality control and compliance with materials, methods, and welding standards (orbital welding, high-purity systems)
- Support kickoff meetings, site coordination, and regular stakeholder updates
- Mentor and support junior staff; contribute to recruiting and training efforts
- Stay current with industry best practices in process piping, QA/QC, and construction delivery
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience estimating, designing, or managing process piping projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience managing scopes from $50,000 to $25M+
- Knowledge of piping materials such as stainless steel (316L, 304L), PVDF, PFA, PTFE, and specialty alloys
- Familiarity with clean construction practices in high-purity environments (e.g., pharma, semiconductor, biotech)
- Proficiency in fluid and gas systems (e.g., nitrogen, oxygen, steam, chemicals)
- Understanding of QA/QC practices, welding, and non-contaminant assembly techniques
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support internal team development
