Summary

The Project Manager, will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction (civil earthworks and clearing) projects and maintenance scopes on the assigned site. The Project Manager will ensure that all projects are completed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations as the top priority. The Site Manager will also ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget. The candidate’s strong leadership, technical expertise and diligent communication skills will be crucial in successfully delivering projects to our clients’ satisfaction. This position will report directly to Senior Management.


Location: Ontario - Candidate must be willing to relocate or commute for the duration of the project.

Preferably based in Thunder Bay Region, or willing to travel to/from for the duration of the project (12-18 months with potential seasonal breaks)

This position may require work outside of normal business hours.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Input & monitor purchase orders.
  • Conduct interval based work-front inspections.
  • Complete and submit semi-monthly management reporting.
  • Review & approve PO’s requested PM or materials coordinator.
  • Engage with all levels on safety initiatives and campaigns with pervasive influence on safe practice with all performing work either directly or indirectly on the assigned site.
  • Hold weekly meetings to discuss safety and project related items with project teams.
  • Maintain competency records.
  • Review and monitor all active PO’s weekly.
  • Review and authorize daily LEM’s.
  • Ensure invoice information is prepared and submitted on time.
  • Ensure Ontario OH&S compliance is exceeded at all times.
  • Review all production progress and productivity reports.
  • Maintain positive relationship with client.
  • Explore new potential business opportunities on their assigned site.
  • Monitor progress against schedule and budget.
  • Assist the Project Controls Manager with estimating all RFP’s for your site.
  • Assist with schedule development during proposal phase and construction execution.
  • Develop project budgets with project controls manager.


Competencies/Certification:

  • Post-secondary degree / diploma in a related field an asset.
  • Experience utilizing InEight (Hard Dollar) an asset.
  • Experience utilizing Pimavera P6 an asset.
  • Experience with and willingness to learn evolving internal software applications.
  • Possess a minimum Class 5 valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.


Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience with demonstrated motivating, training, appraising and general supervisory skills.
