Position Summary:


As the PMO Lead at ReCover, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and successful execution of all projects across the organization. This pivotal role involves leading and empowering Project Managers, ensuring project performance aligns with organizational objectives, and acting as the primary escalation point for critical issues. You will also serve as a key advisor to the Executive Director, delivering high-level insights on project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Project Delivery Oversight: Provide strategic leadership across the entire project portfolio to ensure alignment with ReCover’s mission, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously evaluate project performance against defined milestones and KPIs, proactively addressing deviations in scope, schedule, budget, and resource availability.
  • Guidance and Support: Mentor and support Project Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence in project execution.
  • Issue Escalation: Act as the central escalation point for complex project challenges, facilitating resolution in a timely and effective manner.
  • Reporting: Deliver regular, data-driven status updates and performance reports to the Executive Director and key stakeholders, including funders, highlighting achievements, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all project phases to safeguard delivery outcomes and stakeholder confidence.
  • Governance & Standards: Establish and enforce standardized project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to drive consistency and quality across the portfolio.
  • Financial Management: Lead project budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking. Define and monitor both leading KPIs (risk indicators) and lagging KPIs (performance metrics) to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management System Implementation: Spearhead the deployment and optimization of a centralized project management system to enhance visibility, coordination, and reporting.


Qualifications and Skills:


The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity, is required. Industry experience in construction, energy efficiency, or sustainability is strongly preferred.


A deep knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and industry best practices is essential. PMP certification or an equivalent credential is preferred. Strong financial acumen and analytical skills are critical for effective budget oversight and performance evaluation across multifaceted initiatives.


The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, a collaborative mindset, and an ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
