About the Opportunity

Infrastructure People are partnering with a government-owned enterprise to recruit a Client-Side


Project Manager for a nationally significant intermodal rail precinct in Beveridge, Victoria. This project is part of a broader strategic transformation of Australia's east coast freight and logistics network.

We’re looking for a seasoned professional to oversee the Early Works package — managing governance, assurance, and on-the-ground delivery through construction and commissioning. The role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a high-impact, long-term development that will reshape regional and national supply chains.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the timely and safe delivery of project milestones in line with agreed budgets and environmental regulations
  • Lead internal stakeholder meetings to address construction and operational impacts
  • Manage contractor performance including site inspections, progress claims, technical resolutions, and contractual notices
  • Identify and resolve conflicts between project delivery and operational requirements
  • Liaise with legal, planning, and procurement teams to ensure authority approvals and contract compliance
  • Oversee site activities, including coordination with contractors and consultants
  • Monitor and report on project progress and milestone achievements to senior management
  • Ensure all works meet strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and heritage requirements
  • Collaborate closely with environmental and cultural heritage consultants to uphold preservation standards


What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in major infrastructure projects, ideally in rail, intermodal, or transport
  • Proven ability in Tier One/Two contracting environments with strong site-based project leadership
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management or similar
  • Strong contractual and commercial acumen, including budgeting and contract negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate teams while upholding safety and environmental standards
  • Experience working within government, GBE, or complex stakeholder environments will be highly regarded
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a collaborative, professional approach
