We are seeking an Information Security Project Manager to drive the delivery of key security solutions within our global organisation. This is a 6-month contract role based in Sydney, with a possibility of extension beyond the initial term. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end implementation of information security uplift program initiatives, ensuring timely execution, effective communication, and successful adoption.
The ideal candidate will work closely with Head of Information Security & IT Risk and wider security team members, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors to coordinate detailed tasks, implementation planning, testing, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead and manage Information security solution implementation from planning to completion.
- Break down projects into detailed tasks, milestones, and dependencies.
- Ensure projects align with the organisation’s security strategy, compliance, and risk management goals.
Stakeholder Communication & Coordination
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure their understanding and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project objectives, progress, and outcomes effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain organisational change management communication and define clear communication plan and stakeholders’ management strategy
Implementation Planning & Risk Management
- Develop and maintain detailed implementation roadmaps and delivery timelines.
- Identify, assess, and manage issues/risks associated with the project.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the success of the information security uplift initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to security policies, frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, E8), and best practices.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Oversee security technology evaluation, testing, validation, and deployment of security processes, tools and technologies.
- Ensure solutions meet functional and security requirements before deployment.
- Work closely with security engineers and architects to resolve implementation challenges.
Post-Implementation Support & Handover
- Ensure smooth transition to operations and security monitoring teams post go-live.
- Develop training materials and documentation for stakeholders.
- Track and ensure remediation of any post-implementation issues.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Regularly monitor and report on project status, milestones, and outcomes to project stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience managing IT security, or technology projects.
- Good understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, etc.).
- Experience delivering security tools, controls, and solutions (e.g., EDR, SWG, ZTNA, IAM, PAM, DLP).
- Familiarity with cloud security (Azure, AWS), network security, and endpoint security.
- Hands-on experience in project planning, execution, and delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical security requirements into business language.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
