Summary

Project Manager – Capital Projects (Contract)

Location: Houston, TX (On-Site)

Travel: 15–25% to Colorado (all travel expenses covered)

Duration: 6-month contract with potential extension

Compensation: Up to $50/hour


We’re partnering with a Houston-based owner/operator in the oil & gas sector to hire a Project Manager for oversight of multiple capital projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with a proven ability to manage several small-to-mid-sized projects simultaneously from an owner’s perspective—not just construction or engineering execution.


Role Highlights:

  • Manage 6–7 concurrent projects
  • Lead project planning, execution, and closeout, including scheduling, cost control, procurement, and risk management
  • Direct and align engineering and construction contractors with project goals and contract terms
  • Drive FEL process, project gating, and internal approvals
  • Engage operations and maintenance teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure quality, safety, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate schedules, cost forecasts, KPIs, and reporting for stakeholders


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of project management experience in oil & gas or petrochemicals
  • 5+ years as the lead PM with full accountability for project outcomes
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong background working as an owner/operator
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes, regulatory compliance, and contractor oversight


Preferred:

  • Experience in refining and petrochemical environments
  • PMP certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
