The Office of Global Affairs (OGA) is a catalyst and a hub for all things global at the UW, driving the development of new global initiatives, expanding global learning opportunities, and connecting the diverse internal and external networks of scholars, students, and community leaders engaged with international issues. OGA's major activities include: Initiating and supporting scholarly research on global issues across campus units and departments, disseminating information about relevant faculty expertise, funding opportunities, and institutional ties abroad. Providing a portal through which external stakeholders -- including business leaders, government officials, non-governmental organization representatives, international alumni, and ethnic and cultural affinity communities -- can learn about and participate in UW global activities and resources. Serving as a central guide and resource for developing and successfully implementing global learning experiences including study abroad programs, international research collaborations, and foreign institutional partnerships. Supporting UW community members in planning and carrying out international education, research and community engagement in a safe and productive manner. To facilitate these functions, OGA has five main areas of responsibility: administration of study abroad and exchanges; support for international research; oversight of UW's centers and offices abroad; management of UW international relations and protocols; and development and coordination of strategic initiatives in the key areas of global health, global environment, global technology, global development challenges, and global cultural change. The Project Manager for Global Affairs, under the supervision of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs, will be responsible for the planning and execution of activities related to program development and resource generation. The Project Manager will support the strategic direction of OGA and will focus on research, grant writing, and coordination efforts. The expectation is that after 3 years, this position will be funded through new resources generated. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Revenue Growth (50%) Collaborate with OGA leadership, staff and key stakeholders across campus to execute the strategy for short-term and long-term development of revenue generating programs and activities Working with VP and AVP help set goals for revenue generation. Engage with internal and external partners (e.g., faculty, staff, students, advisory boards, alumni, higher education institutions, professional associations, government agencies, non-profit organizations, community leaders) to identify collaborative opportunities that support OGA's strategic goals. Initiate and manage OGA's programs aimed at resource generation. Analyze existing and potential revenue sources for cultivation, feasibility, and profitability. Research potential programs and resource development in alignment with OGA strategic goals. Partner with OGA advancement on grant and proposal development in support of revenue generating activities that expand global learning opportunities and experiences. Cultivate relationships and build a network of strong partners and advocates. Program Development and Management (45%) Develop and oversee the organization's development of revenue-generating programs, including pipeline management, proposal writing, compliance tracking, and impact reporting. o Manage and oversee programs as needed. o Identify and implement best practices for follow-up with individuals/organizations to maintain and increase engagement Other Duties as Assigned (5%) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years of experience in grant writing, development, higher education, and/or philanthropy. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Project management experience, international experience and/or demonstrated cultural competence, experience with advancement strategies.
