Position Summary:

Calbee America Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead capital and expense projects within our food manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and completion of projects that enhance our production capabilities and facility operations. The Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendors, consultants, and contractors, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with regulatory and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee capital and expense projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation to completion
  • Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources while coordinating with stakeholders
  • Work closely with Drafting, Equipment Engineers, and Facilities Engineers to assemble engineering packages for contractor installation
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Manage RFQs, scopes of work, job walks, and oversee multiple contractor activities
  • Maintain and track project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and validating contractor estimates
  • Ensure projects comply with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMPs, etc.), environmental, and safety standards
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project management practices and execution
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, update engineering records, and provide progress reports to stakeholders


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Strong understanding of food processing equipment, production layouts, and facility operations
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and permitting processes
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address project challenges effectively
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work in both office and production environments, with occasional physical demands including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs


Work Environment & Travel

  • Work is performed in office and production environments with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support project execution at multiple sites
