Project Manager

Business Transformation Team | The Energy Authority (TEA)

Are you someone who thrives at the center of meaningful change — where strategy meets execution, and ideas turn into outcomes? As a Project Manager on TEA’s Business Transformation team, you’ll lead strategic, transformative, and operational projects that prepare our organization for the future and drive our mission forward. Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, you’ll collaborate across business units and functional areas to deliver initiatives that sharpen our efficiency, boost revenue, and enhance the experience of our customers and employees alike.

Why you’ll love this role: You’ll be at the forefront of projects that matter — orchestrating teams, building relationships, and driving results that align with TEA’s strategic and financial goals. You won’t just manage projects — you’ll shape them, lead them, and see the tangible impacts of your work organization-wide.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Project Leadership

  • Lead key projects that drive revenue growth, cost reduction, operational efficiency, and enhanced customer experience.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams, balance priorities, and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across TEA.
  • Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables that align with business goals, and guide projects from inception to completion using industry-standard methodologies.
  • Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success — resolving conflicts and navigating challenges with ease.
  • Participate in the Portfolio Steering Committee (PSC), providing insight into resource management, competing priorities, and process improvements.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop detailed project plans and clear communication materials to keep all stakeholders aligned and informed.
  • Deliver timely updates to senior leadership and functional managers, highlighting key metrics, risks, and project outcomes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional team meetings and workshops, acting as a liaison between business units on complex, multi-organization projects.
  • Analyze project drivers and metrics to provide data-backed recommendations to leadership.

Project Budget & Resource Management

  • Draft, submit, and manage project budgets, making resource recommendations to achieve project goals efficiently.
  • Evaluate change requests (internal and third-party) and assess their impact on project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Set clear expectations with project teams and stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Mentorship & Change Leadership

  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors — empowering them to take ownership and deliver their best work.
  • Act as an effective change agent, leveraging stakeholder analysis and change management techniques to drive adoption.
  • Support others across TEA by providing on-the-spot coaching in business transformation and process improvement methodologies.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in project management and the energy industry (or a combination of education and experience).
  • Strong understanding of revenue models, P&L, and cost-to-completion projections to guide decision-making.
  • Familiarity with power and natural gas bilateral trading markets and electric organized markets (RTOs/ISOs) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in managing diverse project teams — spanning business, technology, and vendor partners.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; you communicate with clarity and confidence.
  • A self-starter mindset with creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for collaboration.
  • General familiarity with computer hardware (desktop, notebook, handheld, etc.).
