Spoke with one of the VPs at this heavy civil shop, and he told me that they're looking for a Project Manager who has experience working on heavy highway, bridge, sewer, utility, airport, or flood mitigation projects...
They're open to bringing on someone who's looking to build their career who has 5+ years experience or a veteran with 20+ years of experience, which is why the salary range is so big...
This should help give you a ballpark of where you'll probably end up:
- If you've got 7 years experience and only have a year or two of running your own jobs or maybe you're a Sr Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager looking to make the jump to PM - you'll be in the 130k+ range.
- If you've got 20+ years experience, have been running your own jobs since the Obama administration, and can run 8 or 9 figure heavy civil projects with one eye closed (not that I'd recommend trying)...you'll be closer to the 200k mark.
