Job Title: Project Manager Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) Industry: Manufacturing / Product Development Job Type: Full-TimePosition Overview: A leading manufacturing company in the greater Charlotte area is seeking a highly motivated and assertive Project Manager to lead the development and launch of new products across multiple categories. This high-impact role will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously from concept through production, working cross-functionally with teams across engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and product management. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical acumen, organizational discipline, and leadership presence—capable of not just managing timelines, but driving accountability, influencing stakeholders, and enforcing execution.Responsibilities:
Lead and manage new product development (NPD) projects across various product lines
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure alignment on scope, resources, timelines, and deliverables
Develop detailed project plans including task scheduling, risk mitigation, and budget oversight
Coordinate with engineering, operations, sales, and marketing to execute projects on time and within budget
Identify project risks, resolve conflicts, and adapt plans as needed to ensure success
Serve as the main point of contact for project-related communications, reporting regularly to senior leadership
Maintain thorough project documentation, including status reports, change logs, and risk assessments
Champion best practices in project management and support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
7+ years of project management experience within product development
Strong command of Stage Gate methodology or equivalent structured product development frameworks
Proven ability to lead complex projects with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
High level of organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project or similar tools)
PMP certification is preferred, but not required
