Position Overview:
A leading manufacturing company in the greater Charlotte area is seeking a highly motivated and assertive Project Manager to lead the development and launch of new products across multiple categories. This high-impact role will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously from concept through production, working cross-functionally with teams across engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and product management.
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical acumen, organizational discipline, and leadership presence—capable of not just managing timelines, but driving accountability, influencing stakeholders, and enforcing execution.Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage new product development (NPD) projects across various product lines
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure alignment on scope, resources, timelines, and deliverables
  • Develop detailed project plans including task scheduling, risk mitigation, and budget oversight
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, sales, and marketing to execute projects on time and within budget
  • Identify project risks, resolve conflicts, and adapt plans as needed to ensure success
  • Serve as the main point of contact for project-related communications, reporting regularly to senior leadership
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including status reports, change logs, and risk assessments
  • Champion best practices in project management and support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
  • 7+ years of project management experience within product development
  • Strong command of Stage Gate methodology or equivalent structured product development frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
  • High level of organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project or similar tools)
  • PMP certification is preferred, but not required
