Your role
Do you want to work closely with senior management on driving forward the fastest growing wealth management business in Japan?

The Strategy & Execution Department supports the Head of Wealth Management Japan in directing, managing, organizing and coordinating business activities of UBS Global Wealth Management (GWM) in Japan. We have launched the partnership with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group/Bank and this team plays the central role in driving this partnership to the true success by coordinating with UBS / SMTB senior management, client facing teams (UBS CA, SMTB RM) and relevant group functions and by continuously improving the collaboration and supporting daily business. And you will be one of the core members for this journey. In addition to the partnership, our team drives and supports various strategic projects and topics in GWM Japan. We work closely with the GWM global and regional teams.

We’re looking for a project/business manager who can contribute both in the RtB (Run the Bank) and CtB (Change the Bank) to:

• define the priorities and strategic goals of the business, support our management and lead the required actions
• manage a portfolio of initiatives/tasks/projects ranging from quick actions to longer term over several months (or years). This includes the partnership with SMTG/B such as continuous business performance improvement activities, sales initiatives, continuous business model improvement and other partnership topics, etc.
• manage governance tasks of GWM Japan including the BoD and Shareholders meetings at entity level and various committees for the partnership with SMTG/B (i.e., preparing/running those governance forums/meetings and liaising with SMTG/B senior management)
  
  

Your team
You’ll be working in the GWM Japan Strategy & Execution Department in Tokyo. We collaborate closely with local, regional and global stakeholders across UBS Group in delivering strategic projects and strategic RtB initiatives for Wealth Management Japan.

Your expertise

• ideally 5 – 10 years of experience working as a project/business manager or in a role which required the above expertise, working in a wealth management or any financial industries can be a plus
• well organized and not fazed by being asked to juggle many tasks simultaneously
• excellent communicator with persuasive presentation skills
• able to deal with potentially contentious challenges effectively as well as to influence various parties
• comfort with adapting to new, unfamiliar situations and topics quickly
• strong analytical, structured problem-solving and creative abilities
• numerate and comfortable working through financial analysis
• quick to learn new things be it a new IT tool or different process
• always looking to remove barriers and make the way we work more efficient
• natural risk manager with a strategic mind-set
• Japanese and English language skills, work experience in an non-Japanese environment or overseas, working in a multi-language/culture environment can be a plus
