Role Description

We are seeking a highly capable Project Manager with strong field experience in structural and industrial painting. The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership in managing field crews, coordinating with general contractors and owners, and executing all aspects of project delivery—from pre-planning and scheduling to billing and final closeout. This is a hands-on leadership role that bridges field operations and project management.


Responsibilities


Project Oversight: Manage multiple structural and industrial painting projects from start to finish, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.

Field Leadership: Support field teams with crew mobilization, daily productivity tracking, and reinforcement of safety and quality protocols.

Client & GC Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, and third-party inspectors.

Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules. Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to meet project milestones and critical path requirements.

Billing & Documentation: Oversee all billing activities, including time and material tracking, percent-complete invoicing, and processing of change orders. Maintain timely and accurate project documentation.

Scope Changes: Identify changes in scope, initiate RFIs, prepare and process submittals, and generate appropriate change order requests.

Project Turnover & Closeout: Ensure successful project closeout through final inspections, punch list completion, and client turnover packages.

Document Control: Develop and maintain an effective system for document control and project records.



Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field experience in structural or industrial painting

• Minimum 3 years of project management experience in construction or specialty contracting.

Coatings background with Strong working knowledge of coating systems, surface prep, containment, and access methods

• Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and quality standards (e.g., SSPC/NACE/AMPP)

• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

• Proficiency in scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing projects in infrastructure sectors such as bridges, tanks, and industrial facilities.

• Knowledge of union labor environments and workforce tracking

• Experience with both government and private-sector clients

• Willingness to relocate as needed.

• Boston area candidates strongly preferred.

• Water wastewater construction and maintenance experience

• Coatings background with Concrete repair knowledge. 

• Worked on large projects over 20 million/
