Summary

Responsibilities

  • Manage medium-to-high complexity agile initiatives that span cross-functionally from ideation to production by providing oversight and alignment to CIBC Mellon strategic priorities.
  • Identify and address impediments that affect team progress, helping to remove blockers and drive continuous improvement by making recommendations to optimize productivity and sprint outcomes.
  • Provide proactive coaching and support to the agile team/POD in agile ways of working, helping to establish sustainable and effective practices.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and activities, ensuring teams stay focused, engaged, and continuously improving.
  • Responsible for the administration and maintenance of management tools (JIRA & Confluence).
  • Guide the agile team/POD in the best use of agile tools like Jira & Confluence, optimizing workflows and visibility.
  • Track key performance indicators to measure team progress and agile maturity.
  • Work closely with leadership to align agile transformation strategies with the organizations goals
  • Accountable for creating and sustaining adequate channels for open communication within the agile team/POD and external partners to promote a trusting and effective team environment.
  • Navigate and identify shared services functions (IT, regulatory entities, external partners, etc.) required by the agile team/POD in the delivery of objective key results.
  • Acts as an agile team/POD culture catalyst by fostering a mindset of transparency, accountability, empowerment and rapid-frequent value added results to internal and external customers.
  • Research agile knowledge and industry best practices to build long-term agility at enterprise level.
  • Support and coach teams in agile ways of working, helping to establish sustainable and effective practices.
  • Share agile knowledge and best practices to build long-term agility and accountability within the team.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent agile certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in agile coaching, scrum mastering, or related roles, with a track record of successfully guiding teams.
  • 2+ years of exposure to product development and/or product management or any other relevant experience in the financial industry or similar.

Specific Knowledge & Skills (not Preferred Or An Asset)

  • Strong understanding of agile principles, frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc)
  • Hands-on experience with agile tools including Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and influence teams to develop sustainable agile habits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills to enable team collaboration and effectiveness.
  • Analytical skills to assess and improve team performance, velocity, and workflow efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
