The Project Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections, verifying compliance with project specifications and industry standards, and collaborating with project teams to ensure the successful completion of construction projects. They will also perform construction observation and testing of various construction activities. This position deals with monitoring projects and developments to make sure they are following construction plans, schedules, bid items, permits and documents. It may require extensive experience with technical training or an equivalent certification. Certification (i.e. ICC, ACI, etc) is preferred and required for special inspection.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum High School diploma. Bachelor’s degree would be beneficial
Minimum 5 - 10 years of inspection and/or construction experience preferred
Have ICC, MTRB and ACI certifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe)
Knowledgeable and skilled in how to use standard mechanical and electrical instruments, gauges, and test rigs
Have understanding of building/project site systems, familiarity with relevant building codes, and construction activities methods
Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting plans and specifications
Exceptional customer service skills in serving clients
Proficient in communication, coordination, and organization skills
Knowledgeable in use of computers, Microsoft Suites, iPads, and digital cameras
Certifications and Special Inspection helpful
Able to do basic math
Good time management
Good problem solving/analysis skills
Able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and written
Self-starter with initiative, responsiveness, strong follow-through

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Inspect projects during various stages of construction to make sure they are following applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations, manage quality of materials used, and labor staff personnel
Reports; observing and recording on-site construction activities
Look over and interpret maps, specifications, plans, diagrams, and contract specifications
Input inspection details and other related information onto the computer system, update and retrieve information, if necessary, prepare daily reports, photo reports, monthly reports, and logs
Coordinate projects and provide information to contractors, consultants, developers, and staff
Respond to the public by providing them with information and resolving any complaints in an efficient and timely manner
Perform and/or record material testing on-site as required for compliance and acceptance
Use standard mechanical and electrical instruments, gauges, and test rigs
Depending on project – Best Management Practices (BMP) inspections with contractor and ensure contractor maintains BMP reports, training log, NPDES permits and updates to the BMPs
Read current schedule and understand what work is on-going, recognize and question a delay/discrepancy

SALARY RANGE: $57,200 – $88,400 per year depending on experience
