About the Role:

Our client is looking for a skilled Applications Engineer / Estimator with a strong background in custom machine design and automation. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in developing cost estimates, quoting projects, supporting sales efforts, and assisting with machine concept development. If you’re detail-oriented, technically inclined, and comfortable working with both customers and vendors, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate, detailed project cost estimates and ensure profitability
• Collaborate with the sales team by providing technical support and visiting customers
• Assist in the conceptual design of machines and projects
• Produce supporting documentation for quotes and participate in review meetings
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers
• Continuously improve estimating procedures and workflows
• Manage tasks efficiently within project timelines

Minimum Basic Requirements:

• 7–10 years of machine design experience in custom machine building or the automation industry
• Strong verbal communication skills and comfort interacting with customers
• Ability to write—or a willingness to learn to write—concise and informative technical documents
• Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel or similar tools)
• Experience working with vendors to procure equipment and develop accurate quotes
• Familiarity with robotics integration
• Exposure to ancillary equipment such as bowl feeders, labelers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, cartoners, or bulk handling systems
