Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer with 2-4 years of current experience to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative, coordination, and field support throughout all project phases. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of our projects while adhering to our company's standard operating policies and procedures. This position requires passion, dedication, accountability, and a strong desire to learn.


Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize your expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications to support project planning and execution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and processing submittals to ensure project compliance.
  • Apply your problem-solving skills to handle Requests for Information (RFI’s) effectively, maintaining project clarity and accuracy.
  • Display your attention to detail in maintaining accurate as-built drawings to document project changes and updates.
  • Utilize our DocuLink process to manage project documents efficiently, ensuring organization and accessibility.
  • Support project scheduling efforts by assisting in the development of 3-week schedules.
  • Contribute to the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process, upholding project standards.
  • Assist in managing the punch list process, addressing outstanding project items promptly.
  • Participate in project closeout activities, including obtaining warranties and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manual documents.
  • Collaborate with various trades, leveraging your planning and coordination skills to ensure project success.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures, always demonstrating accountability and professionalism.


Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in construction or project management is advantageous.
  • General proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools is desirable.


Assistant Project Manager with 4-7 years of Colorado commercial construction experience

The Assistant Project Manager provides administrative, coordination and field support to the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager and Superintendent during the preconstruction, construction and closeout phases of projects as assigned by the Company. In the absence of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager the Assistant Project Manager can accomplish all the required Project Management tasks for the project. This position is responsible for a variety of project tasks that require strict adherence and compliance with the Company’s standard operating policies and procedures. This position requires passion, dedication, accountability, and a strong desire to learn.


Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifies project specific risk issues, establishes a strategic action plan to address them and effectively executes the plan for a successful outcome.
  • Directs and supervises the work of the Hyder project team to ensure assigned projects are completed to maximize profit, within the schedule, all while meeting the client needs and the company’s business objectives.
  • Has a detailed level of understanding, reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
  • Prepares and administers subcontracts and purchase agreements with the assistance of the Project Manager.
  • Manages overall project budget once it is set up by the Project Manager.
  • Manages overall project schedules for all assigned projects.
  • Plans and coordinates the work of all trades.
  • Facilitates an effective and productive weekly OAC and Subcontractor meetings.
  • Ensure that all required project documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Financial and change management including the ability to negotiate Change Orders with Owners, Architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Updates industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of similar experience in the construction industry.
  • Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Asta, Procore, Blue Beam


Salary and Benefits

Project Engineer Salary Range $75k-$85k Annual DOE

Assistant Project Manager Salary Range $80k-95k Annual DOE
