Job Description An excellent opportunity exists within the Space Systems engineering organization for a Project Engineer in Low Earth Orbit projects. This position involves driving Integrated Product Development Team efforts in the development and delivery of environmental and life support systems, as well as active thermal control systems for both LEO and DOD & Science value streams. The role requires direct communication with customers through daily tag-ups, weekly meetings, and quarterly meetings, ensuring alignment with both internal and external expectations. Responsibilities * Manage the planning, execution, and tracking/reporting of all technical aspects of engineering projects. * Lead efforts of a cross-functional engineering team, acting as the key interface between program management and engineering. * Perform control account manager duties, including cost, scope, and schedule management, and understand Earned Value analysis of cost and schedule metrics. * Coordinate and lead team meetings, capture and drive action item closures, and provide updates to management and leadership. * Evaluate technical and programmatic tasks critically, manage scope and tasks across the engineering team, and operate within a matrix environment to manage and identify resource needs. * Serve as the technical point of contact for all aspects of the business, including supply chain, operations, and manufacturing. * Support preventive and corrective action planning and implementation, as well as driving failure investigation activities. * Drive issue resolution closures due to assembly, test, and procurement challenges. * Develop basis of estimates (BOE's) and lead engineering planning and completion of proposal activities. Essential Skills * Mechanical engineering * Aerospace engineering * Program management * Earned Value Management System (EVMS) * Engineering degree * 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Project or Program Management * Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience with SAP * Proficiency in EVMS * Proficiency in MS Project Work Environment The work environment includes a modern office building and sophisticated prototype manufacturing facilities. The role involves interaction with leading space organizations such as NASA and SpaceEX, providing an engaging atmosphere for those passionate about commercial and government space exploration projects. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.38 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
