Position Overview

The Project Engineer - Water Resources will play a pivotal role in managing and executing water resource engineering projects, focusing on stormwater management, flood control, and watershed planning. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that ensure compliance with regulatory standards and meet client needs. This role will work on a variety of projects such as residential and commercial developments, campuses, multimodal transportation, greenways, and parks.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with senior engineering and landscape architecture staff to design innovative stormwater and resiliency measures to reduce flooding.
• Conduct stormwater design, flood control analysis, and watershed planning studies.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings and retrofits for various projects.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
• Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS for design and analysis.
• Conduct HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS modeling.
• Creation of FEMA Flood Studies, No-Rise certifications, and CLOMR/LOMR.
• Assist in the design of water resource solutions for residential, commercial, higher education, transportation, greenways, parks, and riverine projects.
• Ensure all designs and documents adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• At least 5 years of experience in water resources and design.
• Strong knowledge of stormwater management, flood control, and watershed planning.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or in pursuit of licensure preferred.
• Civil 3D, GIS software, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS experience preferred.
