About the Role: Stellar Recruitment is partnering with a leading civil construction company specialising in Infrastructure Construction, based around Reinforced Concrete. Currently delivering work ranging from bridges and wharves to water treatment plants, storage tanks, and pipelines. This role offers the chance to lead key infrastructure projects that are essential to the development of the city's urban landscape. With a competitive salary of up to $135,000, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to manage complex projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage civil construction projects with a focus on reinforced concrete infrastructure.
Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
Address and resolve on-site challenges to maintain project momentum and quality.
Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, ensuring the highest standards are met.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including reports and records.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience in civil construction, particularly in reinforced concrete infrastructure.
Strong understanding of construction standards, regulations, and best practices related to bridges, wharves, water treatment plants, storage tanks, and pipelines.
Proven experience in major civil D&C construction projects and familiarity with NZS3916 and the Construction Contracts Act.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
Excellent leadership qualities and a history of successfully managing staff and subcontractors.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Financial focus towards project costs and proven ability in subcontractor management.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer with a BE, NZCE, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
