CPH is looking for a talented Project Engineer to join their team in Sanford, FL!
The Project Engineer I - Water/Wastewater supports project management activities by providing technical and administrative support throughout the project's lifecycle to water and wastewater systems. This role involves assisting with project planning, design, and execution while gaining hands-on experience in best engineering practices and project management. The Project Engineer I - Water/Wastewater is knowledgeable in engineering principles, construction operational phases, compliance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
Duties Include:
Assist in the development of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates for a variety of water/wastewater and stormwater projects involving transmission, distribution, collection, treatment, storage, utility master planning, permitting and various engineering tasks.
Review of design plans and comparison to accepted municipal standards and details.
Support in the design of hydraulic modeling, including stormwater pre/post and advanced treatment and storage design, along with water and sewer pumping systems and hydraulic water distribution modeling.
Travel to project sites to conduct inspections and quality control to maintain high standards
Conduct research and analysis to support project design and development.
Ensure the design and engineering work complies with industry standards and regulations.
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of proposals and have the ability to interact with clients in both the public and private sectors as well as other jurisdictional agencies.
Ensure the projects comply with engineering standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
Prepare and/or present progress reports, including updates on project status.
Stay up to date with engineering technology and industry standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
B.S. in Engineering (Civil, Environmental).
0-2 years of experience in a similar role or relevant internship experience.
EI/EIT Certification or commitment to obtain within 1 year of hire.
Basic knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and industry standards.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software platforms.
WaterCad and ICPR experience is a plus.
Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
