POSITION SUMMARY: PROJECT ENGINEER
Fortune-Johnson General Contractors is seeking a Project Engineer (PM Track) to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that embraces ambiguity, thinks big, and brings their own uncompromising standards of excellence. This person's primary role will be a learner. This applies equally to the project administration, field activities and physical nature of construction to begin developing leadership skills. This position and expectations to advance will be based on mastering these responsibilities.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Communication: effectively communicate with subcontractors about the project and scope of work.
- Demonstrate a working understanding of the common materials in our projects
- Demonstrate an understanding of contract documents.
- Be able to interpret the drawings through and across sets, submittals, and shops.
- Be able to walk the project and recognize details in the field.
- Execute follow-up correspondence to assist in project tasks.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients
- Other ad hoc reporting as necessary
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related discipline
- 0-2 years of experience
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent team player who is comfortable wearing multiple hats
- Ability to maintain focus while working in a high level, fast paced environment.
- Ability to effectively organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
