The Role:
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the technical aspects of multiple projects across the Central Otago region. You’ll work closely with the Managing Directors and a talented project team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Your Day-to-day Will Include
Project Planning and Coordination: Managing project schedules, preparing tender packages, and coordinating resources to meet deadlines.
Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitoring costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring that projects stay on budget without compromising on quality.
Technical Support and Guidance: Providing engineering expertise, solving complex technical issues, and ensuring that project specifications and quality standards are met.
Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project delivery.
Collaboration: Working closely with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and effective project execution.
Health & Safety Compliance: Promoting and enforcing health and safety standards on site, ensuring projects comply with all relevant regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong Engineering Background: Proven experience in a project engineering role within civil construction, earthworks, or infrastructure projects.
Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Project Management Skills: Experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
Cost Control Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage costs and track project finances accurately.
Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills to identify issues early and implement practical solutions.
Health & Safety Knowledge: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
NZ Residency or Work Visa: Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
NZ Licenses (Bonus): Class 1-4 + WTR preferred.
