Responsibilities Of The Project Director
McLane Advanced Technologies is seeking a highly experienced TAMIS Project Director to lead and manage the U.S. Army’s Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) program in the National Capital Region (NCR). The TAMIS Project Director will provide executive leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for all aspects of TAMIS sustainment, modernization, and cybersecurity compliance.
The Project Director Will
- Serve as the primary point of contact with HQDA G-37/TRA, Army stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment with Army munitions management objectives and mission requirements.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of software developers, cybersecurity professionals, database administrators, and subject matter experts to deliver Agile-based, cloud-enabled solutions in accordance with DoD and Army regulations.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, risk management, resource allocation, and performance monitoring to ensure successful delivery of TAMIS capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with CMMI Level III processes, DoD RMF (DoDI 8510.01), FISMA, AR 25-1/25-2, and all applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Direct the management of $3B+ in conventional ammunition authorizations, including combat load calculations, expenditure tracking, and integration with Army systems such as SAAS, GCSS-A, and NLAC.
- Manage the sustainment and enhancement of TAMIS as a .NET/AngularJS application hosted in AWS GovCloud, ensuring 99.9% system uptime for over 7,000 global users.
- Lead Authority to Operate (ATO) renewals, cybersecurity documentation, and vulnerability mitigation for the Army’s first IL4-certified cloud system.
- Oversee CONUS/OCONUS deployments, including support to user communities in Korea, Hawaii, and Kuwait, and ensure readiness to travel to potentially hostile locations as required.
- Provide regular project status updates, progress reports, and briefings to senior Army leadership and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- 15+ years of experience in the IT field, with at least 10 years of DoD IT project management experience, including leading projects of similar size and complexity.
- Demonstrated expertise in Army and/or Marine Corps munitions management practices and systems (TAMIS, SAAS, GCSS-A).
- Proven experience managing cloud-based DoD applications, preferably in AWS GovCloud environments.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevSecOps pipelines, and Microsoft development stack (.NET, C#, AngularJS).
- Active Secret Security Clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
- Superior leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including to areas where U.S. forces are engaged in hostilities.
