Project Design Assistant

Overview

The Design Assistant [DA] will support the project development team during planning, tender and construction of premium retail projects. The primary working language will be Chinese, but the team and company have an international background, so English language capability will be useful.

Location

This role will cover projects in Suzhou and Shanghai. In-person daily attendance is required. Overtime will be occassionally required depending on project progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Architecture from an accredited university
• 3-5 years experience working in an architectural firm, with experience in construction documents and project management.
• Work experience on 2-3 built projects over 5,000 m2 with high-quality and complex facades
• Familiar with China building codes
• Ability to read and understand Arch / Civil / MEP drawings

Job Requirements

• Support coordination with local architects / engineers / consultants.
• Review and mark up of shop drawings and construction drawings
• Review and assess site mockups and construction for conformance to design
• Use CAD and hand sketches to illustrate design revisions
• Organize and review building material and product samples

Software Proficiency

• AutoCAD
• Sketchup
• Word / PowerPoint / Excel / MS Project

Language

• Chinese [Putonghua] required.
• Basic English skills, preferred.
