Summary

Purpose of the role

The Research Manager (Data) leads, mentors and oversees a dynamic team of analysts engaged in research, data manipulation, and analysis. The role requires ensuring the team delivers accurate, high-quality outputs, develops robust data estimates, and collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders, as well as overseeing cross-function workflows and improving processes over time.

Duties & Accountabilities

  • Team Leadership
  • Mentor and Develop Talent: Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse team of analysts to foster professional growth and enhance technical expertise.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize achievements to motivate high performance.
  • Collaborative Environment: Cultivate a culture of teamwork, open communication, and accountability.
  • Project Oversight
  • Strategic Planning: Plan, prioritize, and execute multiple research projects while ensuring adherence to methodologies, deadlines, budgets and deliverable quality.
  • Monitoring and Delivery: Oversee research workflows, monitor progress, and address potential issues to ensure on-time and high-standard project completion.
  • Research Excellence and Quality Control
  • Data Validation: Identify, analyze, and validate key data sources to ensure outputs are accurate, consistent, and reliable.
  • Data Development: Support the team in triangulating data, identifying gaps, and delivering comprehensive trend analysis.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control mechanisms to address discrepancies, resolve conflicting data, and finalize robust research outputs.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation in data analysis techniques to uncover meaningful trends and opportunities for clients.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Key Point of Contact: Serve as the primary liaison for clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders, addressing queries and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Build trust and maintain strong relationships by delivering data that meets or exceeds stakeholder expectations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Local Research Managers, Heads, and Directors to align workflows, share best practices, and drive process improvements.
  • Operational Efficiency
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize cross-functional workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation, progress reports, and analysis for leadership visibility and decision-making.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Research Expertise: Strong background in data research, analysis methodologies, and quality assurance.
  • Project Management: Exceptional organizational and planning skills to deliver projects on time and to specification.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and relationship management skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to resolve complex data challenges and ensure high-quality research outcomes.
  • Process Improvement: Proactive mindset to streamline workflows and enhance operational performance.
