Your new role
This is a crucial role where you will leverage your expertise in design and technical documentation to support the team from the design phase through to the construction observation phase. You will support the Project Leader in ensuring the integrity of the design is realised in built form by providing technical support to a wide range of components of a high-end interior construction project - from the base building shell, bespoke finishes to custom-designed fixtures. This is an exciting opportunity to join us to play a pivotal role in creating exceptional designs and experiences.
As the Technical Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Advancing the approved Concept Presentation through Design Development, Documentation and Construction Observation.
- Supporting the internal project team by ensuring consistent detailing of all areas across the project; ensuring documentation packages adhere to the company's Standards; proactively engaging the technical team and the Technical Delivery Leader as required and ensuring QA across documentation, coordination and design.
- Actively engage and contribute to the Technical Leader forums and the identification and mitigation of potential project risks.
- Ensure the design intent is protected and maintained through consultant coordination and the contractor processes (shop drawings, sample submissions).
- Review, understand and mark up client, consultants, contractor(s) and suppliers' documentation, drawings, specifications and material samples.
- Guide the Client's Project Manager and contractor(s) successfully through the project, responding to and managing RFIs.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum of 7 years' Commercial - Hospitality, Hotel, F&B, or Multi-Residential Interior Design experience preferred
- Solid understanding of construction detailing
- Ideally, candidates who have delivered high-end hotels and/or resorts would be highly looked at.
- Strong team leader and/or management experience i.e. cross-functional project teams across different levels.
- Good time management skills and ability to multitask in a hybrid working environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills - especially dealing with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative and supportive manner.
- Self-motivated.
- Master Planning skills are desirable, not mandatory.
- Proficiency in software i.e. AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (Photoshop/InDesign), Sketchup, Microsoft Office, etc.
