We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a project controls specialist. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about project management, analytics, and ensuring the successful execution of projects within established timelines and budgets. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and discipline team members to support the planning, monitoring, and controlling of project activities. You will be expected to work in a hybrid work environment, collaborating with KAI team members primarily in St. Louis, Dallas, and Atlanta.
Essential Functions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets, including schedule task sequencing, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Key support to marketing and business development team members across multiple offices.
Regularly update and maintain project status reports for internal stakeholders.
Contribute to the identification and assessment of project risks.
Assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including estimate to complete (ETC) and estimate at complete (EAC) reports.
Support ad-hoc requests from Project Controls Director, Business Leaders, and Project Managers.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather project data and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing updates and addressing inquiries.
Qualifications
1. Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., project management, business administration, engineering).
Project Controls experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or real estate development preferred.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to innovative technologies and methodologies.
Experience using CRM products such as Unanet, Deltek, or ComputerEase preferred

Strong leadership skills required.
Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) required.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work efficiently and remain organized.
Ability to maintain a strong sense of focus and confidence under tight deadlines and varying workloads.
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, responding to changing needs and schedules.
Strong editing and proofreading abilities.
