We are looking for Project Controls professionals with Scheduling or Cost Control experience.


Position requirements can include:

Scheduling

  • Responsible for developing new, logic driven schedules for projects, assigned shutdowns, or work areas within large capital projects/programs to meet project objectives.
  • Updates and maintains the project schedule(s) assigned in a timely and diligent manner. Interpretation & integration of contractor schedules.
  • Performs integration across multi-discipline/multi-phase projects or programs of work.
  • Review and quality assurance of key milestones used in reporting.
  • Develop and maintain resource loading & levelling within the schedule. Works with project managers to develop staffing/resourcing plans.
  • Provides feedback to contractors on schedule quality.
  • Evaluates contract bid schedules.
  • Compliance with standards and procedures for schedule control, including maintenance of resourcing and activity codes and metadata.
  • Recommendation of improvements and identification of quality and governance issues
  • Perform reporting & monitoring, including variance reporting as per the project calendar. Ability to present schedules and analysis to project leadership team
  • Actively seeks to identify challenges and lead reviews of the schedule to prevent and mitigate project delays. Recommends solutions based on logic and experience.
  • Responsible for collation and analysis of multiple schedule impacts analyses and recommends solutions based on past experience and logic
  • Support the lead planner and project controls manager as required


Cost Control

  • Perform cost control tasks including monthly actuals and accruals, forecasting, and budget management.
  • Maintaining forecast / EAC for all phases of a project through communication with all levels of stakeholders and in a timely manner
  • Perform progress reporting and Earned Value Measurement tasks
  • Demonstrated experience in cost control systems such as CMS, Quest, PRISM, Ecosys or similar systems
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Ellipse, Maximo and reconciliation between Project Controls and ERP systems
  • Implement change management process for projects providing guidance on trend analysis and the assessment of change impacts on cost.
  • Establish, manage and monitor project reporting requirements via weekly/monthly progress, cost, and performance reporting to align with the Clients reporting calendar requirements.
  • Engage with Planning Engineers to ensure contractor and internal schedules reflected in Primavera P6 and other systems are integrated with cost data for Forecasting.
  • Understanding of estimating, procurement and contracts processes and cross functional collaboration
  • Experience in cost flowing different procurement and contract package types
  • Support the cost lead and project controls manager as required


About you:

To be considered you need to have 7 - 15 years working in consultancy or client-side business planning/cost control (essential) with well-developed project delivery skills across infrastructure projects.


Key experience to be successful in this role:

  • Experienced in managing personnel and stakeholders.
  • Expert Knowledge of Primavera P6 or Open Plan Professional, or Cost Control systems such as CMS, Prism, Ecosys or InEight
  • Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft office suite and reporting software such as Power BI and Tableau
  • Good oral and written communication, ability to interface with personnel at all project stakeholder levels
  • Knowledge of project execution methodologies, phases, and project controls standards & earned value methodologies.
  • Ability to self organise, obtain data, and update project cost and schedule with minimum supervision.
  • STEM oriented bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience across multiple project industries and/or project phases
  • Knowledgeable about current industry trends(e.g. lead times) and technical developments
  • Prepare analysis of durations, forecasting /trending and lessons learned at completion of project. Collation, comparison, and analysis of past project data to develop norms and trends.
