Summary

Five Nine Design Group is seeking an Associate Level Project Architect to lead, manage, and perform the completion of multiple projects in the Telecommunications and Mission Critical industry.  


Responsibilities

  • Works with general supervision conferring with superior on unusual or difficult matters; Position has some latitude for unreviewed action and decision making;
  • Under general supervision, plan, conduct, supervise, manage, and perform project assignments. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring resourcefulness, originality, initiative, and ingenuity. 
  • Responsible for the design, coordination, and execution of multiple small, medium, or large telecommunications type projects with varying construction types, scopes, and entitlement and delivery processes.
  • Responsible to manage multiple telecommunications projects simultaneously in different phases of the process, with some substantial in scope. 
  • Responsible to create site designs and construction document sets using AutoCAD software; 
  • Responsible for obtaining approval of design decisions, team guidance on objectives and concepts, final documents and specifications, overall quality of the work, and client satisfaction.
  • Competently oversees and plans all aspects of a project requiring timely completion of each phase of the project by collaborating with staff, external consultants, and others to fully utilize the resources available to meet the project plans, budgets, and schedules.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional experience in project management, architecture, and/or telecommunications projects; 
  • Fully competent professional with experience, capable of effectively managing self and work with project team;
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principals, practices, and procedures of project management and architecture profession to completion of project assignments; 
  • Proficient in multi-tasking and accomplishing multiple project goals efficiently and effectively in a fast paced and high pressure telecommunications industry;
  • Possesses high level of organization, attention to detail, and proficiency in time management;
  • Requires ability to self-perform a variety of telecommunications related architectural and project management tasks to produce designs, AutoCAD drawings, reports, and documents required for completing projects;
  • Requires a solid knowledge of architecture and engineering disciplines for effective production, coordination and evaluation of the work done by internal staff and external consultants to ensure high level of quality and accuracy;
  • Requires communication with senior management on project goals, schedules, budgets, and milestones;
  • Requires effective communication and leadership to manage project teams of engineers, designers, technicians, consultants, and/or others;
  • Requires effective communication with telecommunications clients to determine scope, present project designs, obtain approvals, and manage project completion process on time and on budget;
  • Requires identification, communication, and interaction with National, State, and Local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) for obtaining project required approvals;
  • Requires communication and experience with contractors to coordinate and work with them during construction administration for various construction processes and telecommunications project delivery methods;
  • Regularly reviews the status of projects and work to ensure that team members are not delayed due to a lack of information, and that all projects are completed on schedule and in accordance with company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and direct quality and accuracy of work performed by internal staff and external consultants.
  • Facilitates project meetings and presents information (graphically, in writing, and/or in person) to groups of managers, clients, strategic partners, design teams, consultants, and the general public.
  • Collaborates with consultants, staff and others to prepare detailed documents, reports, requests for proposals (RFPs), and specifications
  • Responsible for researching, identifying, documenting process, and working with AHJs for obtaining necessary project approvals
  • Responsible for management and administering of project bid process on behalf of clients
  • Responsible for management of project construction administration process 
  • Increased compensation with experience in telecommunications industry including delivery methods, mission critical and redundancy concepts, and knowledge of power systems, emergency power and transfer systems, DC Power systems, telecommunications cooling concepts, grounding, alarms, and telemetry.
