We seek a motivated architect with at least 5 years of experience in the design, management, coordination, and execution of a variety of projects. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Founded in 1992, Curtis & Windham Architects are located in Houston, Texas. We pursue excellence in contemporary traditional design within the fields of architecture, interiors, and landscapes. Our work displays a shared appreciation for the timeless design principles found in both historic and modern design. The scope is primarily residential, but includes institutional and commercial projects as well.

Position Description:

Project Architects must exemplify excellence in professional conduct and an unquestioned integrity in their commitment to a job well done. Crucially, they must be adept at long-range thinking and have the ability to elicit good work from the staff they supervise and act in concert with the principals to sustain the health of the firm.

Responsibilities:

Conceptual and strategic thinking within a variety of project types

Communicating through plans, elevations, sections, and details

Project coordination with consultants & contractor

Compiling and distributing materials, documents, and information as needed

Organizing & executing construction documentation sets

Delegating & reviewing work to junior level support staff

Research products and specifications as requested to execute design intent

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture required

Professional Licensure is a plus

High-end residential experience is a plus

Proficient knowledge of AUTOCAD is required

Successful in a fast-paced and demanding work environment with high expectations on performance and the ability to meet deadlines

Must be able to efficiently communicate and collaborate with team members daily

Must be responsible, organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated

Must be able to prioritize and remain flexible to changes
