Job Title: Project Architect
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to develop concepts and technical requirements for each phase of the design process. The ideal candidate will produce construction drawings using Revit, coordinate with clients and engineering trades, and ensure deliverables meet code compliance. This role also involves overseeing junior staff, attending planning board meetings, and managing all deliverables from schematic design through construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Develop concepts and technical requirements for each phase of the design process.
- Produce full sets of construction documents for corporate interior projects using Revit.
- Coordinate with clients and engineering trades to ensure deliverables are met.
- Review all drawings for code compliance.
- Oversee production of architectural drawings by junior staff and manage junior staff members.
- Attend planning board meetings if licensed and be involved in zoning and planning.
- Oversee and produce all deliverables from schematic design through construction administration.
- Serve as the main client contact and act as Project Manager, writing proposals and managing budgets, schedules, and staffing.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Ability to complete full sets of construction drawings for corporate interior projects.
- 7+ years of architectural experience, with 4+ years in corporate interiors.
- Strong understanding of building codes for corporate interior projects.
- Ability to handle 5+ projects in different phases simultaneously.
- Experience with design, drafting, and construction documentation.
- Ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
- Bachelor of Architecture and in process to become licensed; Registered Architect is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Adobe.
- Strong understanding of land-use and zoning.
- Experience coordinating with all engineering trades and managing ground-up projects from inception through completion.
- Knowledge of ground-up and multi-family projects and how they come together conceptually.
Work Environment
Our Client is a 22-person firm specializing in corporate and office interiors and residential projects. The firm is divided into two studios: Workplace and Residential, each with 10-12 team members. The Workplace studio focuses on corporate/office interiors, while the Residential studio handles single-family residential and multi-family/mixed-use projects. Typical working hours are 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. The firm offers a forward-thinking environment with a strong sustainability initiative, frequent lunch and learns, and excellent benefits. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $57.69/hr.
