Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our accounting team. This full-time, on-site role is integral to the financial health and operational success of our projects and will support a region of our multi-state company. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction accounting skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project financials from start to finish, including cost reporting, receivables, and payables
  • Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices in coordination with project managers
  • Prepare and maintain project billings, lien waivers, and change orders and prepare monthly cost

  • Reconcile job costs and accounts payable entries to ensure accuracy
  • Support month-end close procedures and reporting
  • Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain detailed and organized project documentation and accounting records
  • Assist with audits and compliance as needed


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting and project financial management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with construction accounting software is a plus (e.g., Sage, Procore)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and communicate effectively
