About the role:

The Programme Coordinator plays a key part in providing strategic and operational support in translating Light for the World strategy into Programmes and projects. Within the strategic programmes team, you will build the programmatic track record of Light for the World in designated thematic areas. You will be connected to new developments in programme areas relevant to your portfolio and contribute to informing new programming on one side and on the other, support programme Management Cycle to ensure alignment with both internal and external requirements. You will work closely with colleagues located in our African offices and around the world to position Light for the World as a reference organisation in effective programming and implementation of programmes and projects.


Tasks

  • Coordinate programme and project development, along with relevant teams across the organisation

  • Provide an overview to fund raising teams, of match-funding needs, in relation to programmes and projects under your responsibility to ensure their adequate funding and delivery.

  • Liaise with donors to prevent and solve compliance issues in accordance with donor expectations.

  • Gather, monitor and communicate donor rules and regulations (from donors’ website, NGO networks, emails and meetings) to Country Offices and implementing partners

  • Analyse financial data and link it to narrative outputs, proposing mitigation and adaptation measures as relevant.

  • Manage learning through effective documentation and sharing within the organisation, with donors and with the external world as relevant.

  • Facilitate multi-country/ multi-partner steering of existing programmes and projects to ensure programme implementation is done according to commitments and in appropriate quality.

  • Provide structure and processes for the management of the programmes and projects.

  • Represent Light for the World at donors’ events to promote its image, brand and approaches


Requirements

  • University degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in programme and/or project management, ideally within an INGO environment.

  • Ability to promote effective programmatic contract implementation, including strong ability to analyse financial data and link it to narrative outputs and proactively propose mitigation measures as relevant.

  • Excellent coordination skills to contribute and lead on the development of proposals to institutional donors or foundations.

  • Proven ability to maintain effective working relations in a multicultural environment.

  • Hands-on approach, proactive personality, strongly motivated, solution oriented, team player, excellent organisational skills

  • Good knowledge of Excel and accurate working with financial figures.

  • Interest in development cooperation and Light for the World‘s mandate area.

  • Excellent English and German skills, ideally French as well
