Summary

Duties Bridge Academy is a school designed with specific intention to serve 6th through 12th grade students with internalizing mental health concerns through maintaining small class sizes, low capped attendance rates, individualized plans to aid students not only in their academic efforts but also their mental health needs. Most students work toward successfully achieving a healthy transition and return to their school of origin. This role will help support students and staff alike, contributing to the overall health and success of the program. This position is perfect for a detail oriented person who also loves directly supporting students when they need it in a classroom setting. A Program Support Specialist at Bridge will serve as administrative support to the Bridge Director, help support students directly in the classroom with academics and emotions, and work with regional districts referring students to Bridge Academy. This position will have a role in school and student success from start to finish. All roles within the school function with flexibility and support for all others and this role is no different. A Program Support Specialist at Bridge will be responsible for daily attendance; school records; coordination with other schools and districts when students start or leave Bridge; scheduling intake meetings for potential new students; classroom support for academics and emotional needs of students; individualized student emotional regulation support as needed; and support for student lunch breaks, outdoor activities, or other supports as needed or requested by teaching staff. Classroom support may include: helping students get started on work; restating directions to students; helping explain or provide examples; or helping students remain focused and on task. * Commitment to Trauma Responsive Education Environment: Demonstrates competence and understanding and commitment to trauma-informed practices and trauma responsive environments. Remains dedicated to ensuring Bridge Academy is an inclusive, safe and calming environment for all. Works to establish and maintain healthy communication and partnerships with students, colleagues, and families. * Social-Emotional Knowledge: Familiar with social-emotional concepts; willing to be trained on social-emotional learning curriculum to integrate into their conversations with students. Contributes to overall school utilization and consistency of SEL concepts. * Interdisciplinary Team Structure: Works collaboratively with teachers, other case managers, clinician and administrator to partner with students and their families to treatment plan for academics and services for the student and/or their families. Attends meetings as assigned. Initiates meetings when needs present. * Referral/Intake Coordination: Responsible for participation in referral and intake coordination of documentation, initial meetings, and facilitation of start dates and transition dates. * Progress Reporting: Responsible for preparation of documentation and progress reporting to district of origin. Assists administrator in overall data collection and reporting for outcome measures of success. * Professional Development: Dedication to personal and professional growth through ongoing professional development including, but not limited to book studies, school or regional trainings, seminars, workshops, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning. * Documentation: Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and school policy. Responsible for permanent and temporary school record compliance. Individual will also be responsible for submission of grades to districts at the end of each semester. * Motivation: Strives to help students identify their internal strengths, interests and motivation. Qualifications Bachelors degree and 2 years of demonstrated experience in a related field or environment. A related field or environment for relevant experience may be a school setting, social service setting, or other youth serving organization. Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues to work collaboratively for student success. Must be able to demonstrate competence in trauma-informed practices. Preference given to individuals with a masters degree and/or a school social worker. The ideal candidate would already possess a substitute teaching license or be willing to acquire one.
