TITLE: Program Outreach Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Administrative

REPORTS TO: Chief Program Officer

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

Primary Function

The Program Outreach Specialist works together with the Chief Program Officer to develop and implement an outreach plan with the goal of improving access and linkages to LEO's programs throughout the service area. The Program Outreach Specialist will identify and connect with low-income population sectors who are underutilizing LEO programs, and will include targeted outreach and strategic communication plans to close access gaps through education and training campaigns.

The Program Outreach Specialist will foster collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders, state and local agencies and private, for-profit entities which provide resource coordination and streamlined access to improve overall service available to LEO clients and community residents.

The Program Outreach Specialist will conduct customer service surveys and will work with Chief Program Officer to evaluate survey responses and will actively seek feedback from the community regarding access challenges to LEO programs and work together with program directors to develop systems that promote efficient and effective program participation.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate program and demographic data to identify gaps in program utilization and work together with Chief Program Officer and Program Directors to develop and implement comprehensive outreach and communication plans.
  • Utilize customer service surveys to identify trends and gaps in resources and services.
  • Implement outreach and communication plans to address customer identified needs.
  • Conduct outreach activities to identify eligible community residents and coordinate LEO's presence at community events and organized outreach events.
  • Collaborate with the Communication Manager to identify effective marketing materials which provide clear and consistent information regarding basic program eligibility information for LEO programs and services.
  • Coordinate with Program Directors to develop strategies to eliminate identified access barriers.
  • Build and sustain key partnerships with community stakeholders.
  • Assist during food, diaper and other distributions.
  • Provide support to Chief Program Officer and Community Service Department
  • Perform intake, assessment, referral and service coordination activities as needed.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned

Skills / Knowledge Required

  • Associates Degree in a related field, Bachelor's degree preferred and relevant experience
  • Competent computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required
  • An innovator, capable of creating or seizing opportunities to improve service effectiveness and client outcomes and build key partnerships with other organizations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including facilitation, presentation and relationship building.
  • Effective team builder and collaborative and cooperative team member.
  • Experience working effectively with a diverse population.
  • Flexibility as schedule includes weekends and evenings
