Program Manager

Title: Program Manager FTE Status: Full Time – 40 hours

FLSA Status: Non-exempt Reports To: General Manager

Primary Purpose Of Position

This position is responsible for overall program performance, including cost, quality, and schedule. Manages program(s) to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for all decisions relating to cost, quality, technical issues and schedules. This includes review and approval of all direct program purchases, NCR’s, and shipments.
  • Directs Technical issues associated with the project.
  • Generates Weekly Status Reports for program team, management and customers.
  • Holds weekly Program Review Meetings as needed with pertinent teams and departments.
  • Acts as primary contact for assigned accounts. Reviews all contract changes for cost and schedule impacts and ensures incorporation into the customer’s Purchase Order.
  • Directs customer communications as needed, including written correspondence, teleconferences, reviews, customer visits, etc.
  • Generate closed Program Reports, explaining variances to budget and schedule.
  • Bid and Proposal support, including Estimating Workbook, technical write-ups, etc.
  • Provides input on selection of personnel according to knowledge and experience in the area with which program is concerned.
  • Confers with staff to explain program and individual responsibilities for functions and phases or program.
  • Directs and coordinates activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of program.
  • Reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objective and modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attain objectives.
  • Controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
  • Ensures program history is archived through record retention and document control.
  • Some travel required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skill And Ability To

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have good technical writing and computer skills.
  • Must have some Technical Aerospace Structural background

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience in related field

Reporting

  • Direct report to General Manager
  • Works with sales, engineering, operations, quality, management, and production crew for problem solving and production improvements

Working Conditions

Work is primarily indoors in an office or manufacturing facility and occasionally includes travel by air or ground transportation.
