As Volunteer Program Manager, you'll contribute to our success in the following ways:
* Ensures that all activities performed align with the vision of Elara Caring's board of directors, executive team, and the leadership of the Hospice team.
* Promotes Elara Caring's philosophy, mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
* Maintains patient and staff privacy and confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA Privacy Final Rule.
* Identifies opportunities to integrate volunteers across all departments and develop new programs to maximize impact.
* Acts as a primary liaison between volunteer coordinators and operational leaders, facilitating communication and addressing feedback.
* Provides coaching, training, and feedback to ensure volunteer coordinators are driving continuous improvement and adherence to policies and regulations.
* Build cross functional relationships with branches and departments to assist in collaboration and delivery of services.
* Assures that there are sufficient volunteers and coordinators to consistently provide service time equal to no less than 5% of direct care hours.
* Supervises and establishes goals and objectives with and for the volunteer program.
* Documents and tracks appropriate volunteer statistical information, and volunteer program records as evidenced by evaluations and other volunteer demographic needs completed before expiration or due date.
* Manages time and resources in a cost-effective manner regarding the hospice reimbursement methodologies.
* Tracks and records volunteer hours and comprises a current and accurate volunteer cost-savings report; identifies trends.
* Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
What is Required?
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
* 2+ years experience in a healthcare or hospice setting
* Experience in providing volunteer coordination is preferred.
* Knowledge of hospice philosophy and end of life care practices.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Able and willing to travel up to 25% to meet business needs.
* Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings, in office and/or remote.
* Able to build relationships with diverse groups of volunteers and healthcare professionals.
* Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently and be able to lift 50-100lbs.
* Full range of body motion including handling, lifting and transfer of patients
You will report to the Compliance Audit Manager.
