Role: Reporting to AVP, US Projects, the Program Manager ensures that the projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality standard. He or she identifies opportunities for improvement and recommends solutions to optimize the business processes and workflow, thereby participating in achieving the company’s goals and satisfying our clients. The role encapsulates skills from traditional Program Management around communication and practices around proactive management of driving engagement teams to successfully deliver organizational goals.

Your Day with Equisoft:    

  • Project/Program Management
  • Own the end-to-end execution of software delivery projects, from planning and estimation through deployment and support.
  • Provide leadership for strategic, cross-functional software delivery initiatives, overseeing multiple project workstreams and development squads.
  • Develop and drive high-level project and delivery plans, integrating team-level planning into a unified roadmap.
  • Lead execution ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring teams stay aligned and productive.
  • Proactively identify team risks and dependencies; resolve escalated issues through collaboration and influence.
  • Establish best practices in project governance, documentation, and communication across initiatives.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary executive liaison for clients, ensuring alignment between client business objectives and delivery outcomes.
  • Engage directly with client senior leadership to manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and drive strategic discussions.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level status reports, project dashboards, and business reviews tailored to various stakeholder needs.
  • Build long-term, trust-based client relationships through consistency, transparency, and delivery excellence.
  • Project Improvement and Innovation
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across teams and portfolios, identifying patterns and proposing systemic enhancements.
  • Facilitate outcome-driven retrospectives and operational reviews; coach teams toward higher performance and efficiency.
  • Innovate delivery models, workflows, and frameworks to meet evolving client and business demands better.
  • Mentor Project Managers and Senior Project Managers in delivery of best practices, agile execution, and leadership development.
  • Financial Management
  • Own the financial health of assigned projects and portfolios, ensuring profitability, margin protection, and effective resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with sales and solution architecture teams on scoping, pricing, and contracting for complex engagements.
  • Monitor burn rates, manage financial risks, and implement corrective actions to protect client value and organizational goals.
  • Lead conversations on change orders, contract amendments, and scope adjustments, ensuring that financial impacts are transparent and agreed upon.


Requirements: 

Technical 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field 
  • 8-12 years of experience of IT or finance project management 
  • Experience in Project Development Cycle Management 
  • Experience in client-facing project
  • Experience implementing Enterprise level software 
  • Experience in the Financial Services or Insurance industries (asset) 
  • Knowledge of the Agile methodology 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English 
  • Available for occasional travel

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information 
  • Ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced environment 
  • Team spirit, tact, diplomacy, autonomy, rigor, and discipline 


Nice to Haves:   

  • Project Management Certification (CAPM, PMP, SAFe, etc)
  • Knowledge of Scrum, Agile and/or SAFe
  • Experience working for a Professional Services organization
  • Experience as a Scrum Master
  • Advanced Financial Modeling and Prediction skills
  • Insurance experience (preferably in Life/Annuities)
