JOB SUMMARY
In service of supporting all schools in the region to achieve their academic and social emotional targets, the Program Manager of Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) plays a key role in the development, training, implementation, and delivery of a comprehensive Behavioral Health & SEL program for our school sites. This role will be supporting 50% in Behavioral Health capacity and 50% in SEL capacity.The primary function of the Program Manager of Behavioral Health and SEL is to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options and universal support for SEL programming. Reporting to the Regional Senior Director and in close collaboration with the Regional Education Team, this impactful role also supports the development of high quality org-wide pedagogy and instructional practices as aligned to the Aspire Students Learning Framework (ASLF).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Spends approximately 70% of time supporting the region through delivery of Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programming and on-the-ground coaching and support to teachers and schools.
Behavioral Health
Collaborates with regional Special Education and the Regional Director of Student Services in regards to students in need of intensive and/or targeted behavioral supports
Develops, supports and provides differentiated training and coaching opportunities to school staff, District staff and families regarding schoolwide positive behavior support, classroom management, functional behavior assessment, behavior support plans, alternatives to suspension, and cultural and linguistic considerations in behavior and discipline.
Develops regional procedures for General Education behavior intervention plans.
Collaborates with District and school staff in problem solving individual, classroom and school wide behavioral challenges.
Promotes and supports a team approach in behavior support planning and implementation among the school community, teachers, paraprofessionals, students and parents.
Regularly collects and analyzes behavioral data to guide decisions regarding individual student supports, classrooms and school-wide systems.
Collaborates with the general education and special education teams to design and implement behavior intervention strategies and programs
Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) assessments as required by IDEA, and provide behavior consultation to SST members, including support in drafting a strong behavior intervention plan and behavior data tracking systems
As needed provides thought partnership to Program Specialists who conduct FBA assessments as required by IDEA
Consults with parents, teachers, and other staff regarding any accommodations/modifications needed for a specific child
Designs and supports the development of Behavior Intervention Plans
Demonstrates knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools Equity Beliefs, and mission, vision, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Develops resources and provide professional learning in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties
Social-Emotional Learning
Support the region through SEL curriculum assessment and analyses, delivery of PDs and on-the-ground coaching and support to teachers, classified staff, and site leaders in the area of Social-Emotional Learning.
Coaching work supports org-wide coherence through reference to ASLF and use of approved instructional tools (Instructional guidelines, pacing guides, etc.).
In alignment with Aspire’s equity commitments, works with the Regional Sr. Directors to provide additional resources and or support to schools needing universal, targeted, and intensive support within an MTSS framework.
Analyzes site-level data in multiple content areas to identify region-wide goals and trends. In collaboration with the Regional Sr. Directors, co-creates region-wide action plans to address gaps, creating opportunities to implement pedagogy and curriculum that reflect data-supported best practices from inside and outside of the organization, in support of coherent Aspire and region-wide coherent priorities and initiatives.
Builds capacity by training strong lead teachers, classified staff, and site leaders to provide impactful coaching and support to their sites.
Data-driven SEL programming
Analyze regional-level data on TK-12 SEL metrics to identify region wide goals and trends.
Create regional level action plans to address TK-12 data
Develop and design regional instructional supports to address TK-12 SEL trends
Curriculum
Manage TK-12 SEL curricular implementation and revisions
Conduct audits of TK-12 SEL curriculum including unit plans, lesson plans, and projects.
30% of time is dedicated to Research & Development on pedagogy, curriculum development, and aligned ASPIRE programming specific to Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
Pedagogy and curriculum reflect data-supported best practices from both inside and outside of the organization and Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) best practices.
Is a collaborative member of the Regional Aspire Ed Team and works on org-wide initiatives and priorities.
Collaborate on an evolving vision for Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL)that is rigorous, standards aligned and equity based.
Design and vision of Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program that is rigorous, inquiry-based, standards-aligned and student-collaborative centered. Collaborate with Aspire colleagues to determine an approach to drive educational equity in Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and recommend how we allocate resources and programs accordingly. Ensure that vision and program are guided by Culturally Responsive Teaching Strategies.
Drive Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) assessment cycles at the regional level including establishing timelines, writing and/or providing feedback on assessments and supporting documents, communicating school scheduling and providing support in scoring/norming.
Analyze data on Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) assessments to identify goals and trends.
Conduct audits of Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum including unit plans, lesson plans, and projects. Develop and design in collaboration with instructional colleagues, instruction to address Behavioral Health and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) trends.
Organizational Relationships
Works closely with the Regional ILT and Data Team to maximize the ability of Aspire Public Schools to interrupt inequities in education for our young people.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

This role may require travel up to 80% time to schools across the region and may require some periodic travel to all Aspire regions and/or other locations for conferences/professional development

QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
Have excellent reasoning, analytical and communication skills

Knowledge of applied behavior sciences, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related disorders
Minimum Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, with relevant degree and/or content expertise;
Master’s degree in related fields preferred.
Experience required:
5+ years of experience with behavioral support evaluation and/or progress monitoring as teacher or as behavioral health practitioner
CPI certification desired
Experience with children and teens.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual desired
