Apex Systems has partnered with a large Bank in MN to fill a Program Manager role. Our client is looking for a t ransformation resource that can help put an operating model in place. Functional org design, roadmaps, strategic plans, etc. This position is an opportunity for a dynamic leader to shape and execute a transformative vision in a high-impact environment.

Program Manager - Operational Transformation

Contract Details: 3-month contract-to-hire

Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week), Columbus, OH

Role Summary:

The Program Manager will oversee frontline risk and control efforts for all technology areas, including traditional IT, application development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure. The team currently lacks an operational model, and the Program Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive operating model, including roadmaps, policy requirements, and functional organization charts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a cohesive operational strategy and plan.
  • Facilitating change management and building a high-functioning team.
  • Presenting to stakeholders and leadership using advanced PowerPoint skills.
  • Driving risk management efforts and aligning with established frameworks.
  • Operationalizing strategy and delivering a mobilized, prepared team in 60 days.
  • Provides leadership and has overall responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to technology and business unit programs and projects.
  • Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of programs.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget and that IT governance is followed.
  • Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Works with business segment manager(s) and program/project sponsors to establish the project scope, deliverables, budget and schedule.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Background in banking or financial services, with proven experience in risk and operational transformation.
  • Expertise in implementing large-scale change management initiatives (Prosci certification or equivalent experience is a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience deploying enterprise-level risk and operational frameworks.
  • Strong skills in presenting to stakeholders and leaders, along with risk and control experience.
