Summary

Program Manager – Workday Implementation

Our client is transitioning from Oracle PeopleSoft to Workday as part of a strategic initiative to modernize key business processes. This project includes integrations with external systems to optimize efficiency, improve service delivery, and enhance user experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership:
  • Establish and manage the ERP Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Develop governance structures, including steering committees.
  • Ensure scope, schedule, and budget align with organizational goals.
  • Workday Implementation:
  • Lead vendor coordination and day-to-day management of the Workday implementation.
  • Ensure quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of milestones.
  • Manage application decommissioning, data cleansing, migration, and archiving.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Resolve issues efficiently and escalate as needed.
  • Business Process Optimization:
  • Facilitate reengineering of HR, payroll, finance, procurement, asset management, budgeting, and other processes.
  • Drive standardization, improved integration, and reduction of manual processes.
  • Change Management:
  • Develop and execute plans to support adoption of the new Workday system.
  • Address resistance to change and oversee training programs for end-users.
  • Post-Implementation Support:
  • Transition from project mode to operations mode effectively.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.

Goals of ERP Transformation:

  • Reduce risks by transitioning from inefficient systems.
  • Streamline processes by consolidating redundant and shadow systems.
  • Improve system navigation, reporting, and user-driven query capabilities.
  • Enhance workflows and efficiency across departments while reducing data duplication.
  • Adopt industry best practices and limit system customization.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of program management experience in large software implementations across multiple departments.
  • 2+ years of Workday implementation experience in a public sector environment.
  • Preferred: Workday certifications.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., risk mitigation, change control).
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate effectively across organizational levels.


This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in Workday implementations, ERP systems, and cross-functional coordination.
