POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees and manages the overall daily operations of the Griffith Elementary 21st Century Community Learning Center. Responsible for staff management and development, programmatic impact, grant implementation, reporting, and community outreach. This position requires high energy, enthusiasm for YMCA’s mission, and flexibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Manages and implements the 21st Century grants
2. Participates in regular trainings, meetings, and staff development
3. Ensures proper implementation of the YMCA of Southern Nevada’s Youth Development policies and procedures
4. Works closely with supervisors, school administration, parents, and teachers to develop strategies for student successes
5. Ensures staff and students have all materials and physical space needed for successful program implementations
6. Ensures staff and students sign in and out of the program daily
7. Monitors program data (collection and entry), attendance, and outcomes
8. Ensures activities are delivered as intended under the approved funding application
9. Maintains a safe and secure site location with established emergency procedures
10. Communicates daily with school teachers and administrators, program staff, students, parents, and key stakeholder
11. Maintains a direct connection to the regular school day; and
12. Establishes positive action plans that address specific needs of students
13. Performs all other duties, as assigned

ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

1. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with consumers
2. Attends required abuse risk management trainings
3. Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
4. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
5. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, required
• 2-3 years of experience facilitating out-of-school-time programming, preferably within underserved communities
• 1 year of supervisory experience, preferred
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, preferred
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Prior experience with grant management, preferred
• Working with Children within 30 days of hire.
• Current American Red Cross Certifications in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire
