About the LEDA Business Navigator Program
The LEDA Business Navigator Program provides capacity building, technical assistance, and access to resources for entrepreneurs and small business owners in Will County and surrounding areas. The program focuses on Spanish-speaking, minority, and socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs, offering bilingual, culturally sensitive assistance.
LEDA is the only organization in Will County specifically supporting Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs, making the program essential for businesses that face language barriers. The program helps local businesses overcome challenges and expand their opportunities.
Position Description
The Program Manager (PM) will oversee the LEDA Business Navigator Program exclusively. The PM will play a key role in strengthening the economic landscape for local businesses through technical assistance, relationship building, and community engagement. Reporting directly to the Director of Programs, the PM will manage the program’s day-to-day operations and drive its growth to align with LEDA’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Management
- Administer the LEDA Business Navigator Program, achieving the program’s objectives and goals.
- Manage program deliverables, timelines, and reporting with accountability.
- Community Outreach & Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, offering bilingual and culturally sensitive assistance.
- Represent LEDA at community outreach activities, increasing program visibility and strengthening partnerships.
- Business Advising & Support
- Provide technical assistance, referrals, and resources to small business owners and entrepreneurs.
- Support businesses in identifying and applying for grants and other funding sources..
- Event Coordination
- Plan and manage program-specific events, workshops, webinars, and related logistics.
- Prepare promotional materials and coordinate with event participants and sponsors.
- Reporting & Data Management
- Create, analyze, and manage reports to assess the program’s effectiveness and impact.
- Maintain and optimize databases for accurate data usage.
- Other Responsibilities
- Attend evening and weekend events as required.
- Travel throughout Will and Grundy Counties using a reliable vehicle.
- Adapt to changing organizational needs and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
- Experience in outreach, relationship building, and customer service.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, CRM tools, and other relevant software.
- Strong writing, editing, and public speaking abilities.
- Experience with program management, reporting, and data research.
- Experience in grant writing and assisting businesses in securing funding.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel.
Preferred Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of two years experience in fundraising, grant writing, sales, program management, or community/public relations.
- Familiarity with project management tools (preferred but not required).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (speaking and writing).
- Community-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $45,000 to $55,000 annually, based on experience.
