DESCRIPTION As a collaborative and detail-oriented Localization Program Manager on Mind the Gap team, you will have a unique opportunity to drive meaningful improvements in how millions of customers interact with Amazon in their preferred languages. You'll support and influence our overall localization strategy, lead key projects, and oversee programs that enhance the customer experience. Your expertise in content management, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven process improvement will ensure Amazon's content is consistently available and accurate in all supported languages. Key job responsibilities * Manage Mind the Gap programs to identify, prioritize, and resolve translation coverage and quality gaps * Investigate root causes of issues and propose effective resolution strategies * Evaluate and recommend improvements to localization tools and workflows * Collaborate cross-functionally with business, engineering, and operations teams to align priorities * Demonstrate a solutions-oriented mindset to address ambiguity and deliver results * Leverage data and metrics to measure progress and continuously enhance the localization process * Evangelize internationalization and localization best practices. A day in the life Your typical day will involve managing quality assessment programs for localized content, analyzing metrics and trends in linguistic quality data, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams to refine our assessment frameworks. You'll work closely with our vendors, internal stakeholders, and tech teams to implement data-driven improvements to our quality assessment processes and establish best practices for measuring quality of localized content. About the team The Localization Program Manager will be part of the Mind the Gap (MTG) team, under the broader Translation Services (TS) organization at Amazon. TS is Amazon's center of excellence for global content translation, serving 2,700+ Amazon teams. We ingest and translate content via machine translation (MT) and human editing, and deliver translated content via build and tier-1 runtime APIs. MTG's focus is creating and using data signals to identify high-value opportunities that improve the customer experience so customers can seamlessly access Amazon content in their preferred languages. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * 3+ years of program or project management experience * 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience * Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.) * Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements * Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience * 3+ years of driving process improvements experience * Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization * Experience building processes, project management, and schedules * 2+ years of professional working experience with localization management * Experience with BI tools like Tableau, MS BI, and/or QuickSight and building critical business insights from data Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
